Hashomer Hatzair cares strongly about the safety of all our chanichim. Leaders at Hashy have undergone extensive leadership training courses both on our Shnat program and within the Ken. All leaders at Hashy have Working with Children Checks, and have completed safeguarding children training.
As a member of the Australasian Zionist Youth Council (AZYC) we abide by the AZYC RIghts of the Chanichim.

The AZYC and its affiliate movements believe that children who come to youth movement activities, camps and seminars should:
· feel comfortable
· be cared for
· feel safe and be safe.
All leaders do their best to make sure children here are protected from any harm.
It is not okay for anyone to hurt your feelings or your body. It is okay for you to say NO to a leader if they ask you to do something that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable. If you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable we will listen to you and act to help you It is always okay to tell someone if you are not feeling comfortable or safe or if you have been hurt. If you are unhappy with the way you are being treated please tell a leader or a parent.
